The region is frezuently called the "Land of a Hundred Lakes", with more than 90 in the Forest alone. Several lakes - Radgoskie, Głęboczek and Solczyk are near the Palace. The large half-moon shaped Mierzyńskie lake of good size and very pure wather with a picturesque island in the middle not far from Mierzyn village is nearest to the Palace. It is an excellent place for swimming, with a guarded beach, and also relaxation, with rowing and angling rental outlets.
